I adore silk ribbon embroidery...while I enjoy most forms of sewing or needle work, ribbon embroidery is close to my heart, and it enables me to 'paint' in another medium. Unfortunately I have not had the time, but I would like to start on my work book of ideas...the time is coming soon.......so much to do, not enough time!!!!  Such is the problem when you work in too many mediums!!!!!  Here are some of my favourite pieces which I will build new creations from.

Hi there, Your work is gorgeous!!! Where are you located? I teach embroidery, from beginner levels, through Ribbon and stumpwork, bead embroidery, gold work, hand quilting and more. I am trying to find people interested in learning and the best I get is "very pretty but no thanks" Everyone is quilting and knitting. I have been living in California for almost a year now, in Sunnyvale and would seriously like to start an embroidery circle. Best regards Wanda

Hi Wanda, thanks for visiting the blog and enjoying my ribbon work. I live in Melbourne Australia, but I travel teach also. You might need to look at where you are promoting your business to find you niche, or trying to incorporate your ribbon work with your sewing to get people interested in trying something new. Because I work as an artist, I like to combine my ribbon work- which is more like sculpting with silk, to hand painted backgrounds and then painting the flowers- this was one of the masterclasses I taught in Russia this year. Maybe look for ribbon embroidery magazines to get your work published in, and that might help you find students. If you are on facebook, there are a few embroidery groups I'm in..you might find some people who live near you there also. Connect with me on facebook http://facebook.com/Ingrid.H.Lee and I can add you to them if you like ;) Good Luck! Not sure if my answer helped
