I finished this little sampler piece of Silk ribbon Roses embroidered onto a hand painted background, which I'm using for a magazine article submission...I have no idea what I'm going to do with it!   The size is 12 cm x 12 cm...maybe a small pillow insert?

I completed the background with a handpainted rose design first, then added leaves with ribbon stitch.

All of the ribbons are hand dyed silk (I buy these, as I do not have time to dye my own) and the rose centres are organza- I like the two texture effect.  The roses are rolled roses, and then once in place, hand sewn petals are individually added to complete the roses.  These colours are different for me to work in, but I love the merging greens to pinks and yellows and peach colours.
